How long will it take?

Every dog that comes into Seadogs is treated as an individual, therefore we will telephone you once your dog is ready for collection. We offer a 1:1 service to ensure your dog receives quality time.  We deal with anxious dogs and work with them at their pace.  Many things can affect how long the groom takes including coat condition and any matting, along with the temperament of the dog. We do not use harsh tactics; therefore for nervous dogs we will take our time to reassure them at every stage. These are all things we can discuss with you when you come in.  We have a comfortable seating area for you to wait in.

Bring your dogs to us whilst they are puppies so they can get used to the grooming experience without any pressure. We will ensure each of their experiences are positive, enjoyable ones. We offer discounts for puppies up to one year of age.

We will attempt to de-matt your dog but this may take more time and attention and will therefore be charged accordingly. If matting is too severe we will clip your dog as we will not put your dog through unnecessary pain.  Please ask us how to regularly groom your dogs to avoid matting, and discomfort to your dog, and we will be happy to advise you.

What are the benefits?

Dog grooming is not just to make your dog look pretty. Grooming improves a dog’s mental state, behaviour and is important for their overall health.

When dogs aren’t groomed their nails can get so long that it’s painful and can put strain on their tendons. They can have dirty eyes and ears. A warm bath with professional cleaning products will be a relief for dry, itchy, irritated skin. We can get dead hair out and leave coats lighter and healthier. We will also ensure hair between the pads and toes are mat free which can pull and be painful whilst walking, and will make it easier for you to check feet, eg. Grass seeds. All of this is done in a calm, friendly manner with cuddles, saving your dog stress and you the cost of visiting the vet.
