What is a reward? Many of our clients think it is a treat. A reward must equal food. The fact is a reward is whatever the dog in front of you finds rewarding. For some that may be praise. For others it may be play. Food may work for some, but sometimes food is just too exciting and pushes some dogs over their threshold. Whatever is being used as a distraction in training can also be used as a reward.
